a glocken what?....

this week was meh......really MEH!...im missing my wife...the kids have got the end of year cranks (i might have a smidge of that too!)....frankies daycare mum just tells me she is not working for the whole 6 weeks of school hols! (oh my freakin....!).....and the Vinnies in town has just closed till Feb next year for renos...(please hold me!!)

Sooooo after school drop off on Thurs i went to an oppy where i never ever find much....never ever in the past 4 years have i come out of that place skippin.

Wellllll talk about get my skip on!

I know...how cool is the red case! (or port as we like to call them in these parts!)
will be even cuter when i scrub a dub.

behold!....a turquoise glockenspiel!!....a glocken what?...yes a glockenspiel!!
the kids looove it and i admit to havin a little fun with it too...its school issue 1970`s, and even came with its wackers (technical term!)
and the cutest little water jug for when we play torture tea parties!

some beautiful johnson, some gorgeous kathie winkle.....see the carltonware bowl...$1....I have nothing more to say on that matter ( cause i know you all know! )

hey you there!....up the back in the funny hat....what you lookin at!
yeah yeah i know its getting crowded in the fireplace but where else is one to put their tins?

i found this sweet little table as well....big plans...big plans!!

love that my winkle matches my johnson and my johnson matches my glockenspiel....happy days!

was a pretty good cure for my mehitits....still missin the missus but she will be home Tuesday night!. the kids have got their groove back, ive got a skip in my step.

temps to be in 40`s again here today....holy flippin hot robin!...(i like to give him a mention when i can cause he sure misses out dont ya think?!)
we are off swimming with the cousins....tossing up river or pool???
the kids love the river but im not so keen on its murky depths....which is a little strange as i swam in the same river as a kid, practically lived in that river!...well thats it...im swimming in that bloody river !
hope you all are keeping cool (or warm) wherever you are today.
meet me over at the midori queens , drinks are on the house. Tanias so thoughtful like that!

    1. Hi Carolyn...the carltonware was one of those finds that you think will all go wrong once you get to the checkout!...but no she's all mine for a $1.00. The checkout man tossed it into a box like it was Tupperware !....heathen!

  2. I am totally in love with all of your scores Allison. That glockenspiel! Wow!
I love my Kathy Winkle plates too. Are they both Kathy Winkle? The olive, orange and aqua one is right up my alley. Winkle perfection.
I also think the fireplace is a lovely spot to store your tins. A genius idea in fact (def better than chucking them in the shed like ours are)
Can you believe I'm wearing a parker as I type this? In Perth, in December?
    Have a great weekend.

  4. I'm hyperventilating at your Carltonware bargain .. what a fabulous bowl! Restores one's faith in thrifting when on the rare occasion you can totally score in the crappiest and smelliest of Oppy's - well done! Love that red suitcase (OK, 'port' as I learned was the 'proper' term when I lived in northern NSW); it is a shabby relative of my recent find.
I hope you've polished up the candelabra ready to celebrate a romantic evening with Nic on her return.

  9. What a haul! I love that glockenspiel, useful and turquoise! does not get better than that. And your tin collection is lovely. I have a paltry little collection of two, but it's a start. Goodness you did deserve some good news at the oppy, your week sounds complete rubbish otherwise. Hope things have improved, if not just make a cuppa, play with that glockenwhatsit and sit and admire your tins. mel x
