op shop show off.....school roolz!

a lovely day was had out n about today. one child back at school, the other started preschool. early coffee with a gal pal then a few hours before pick up.....what to do?
well you know the answer.
the sweet country boy print cost me $5 and made me smile all day. I always check out the art dept in the oppy and sometimes its treasure other times....not so much. this ones a keeper!.
get a perve at my tassels!.....Pip roolz too!

a golfing trophy from 1971 ($6). I love these and always find them a little sad....as im skipping to the register!

a crackin picnic basket($4) with a crackin bit of seersucker($2.50)....the colours are fantastic and although im tempted to whip up a pair of pantaloons or something (yep picture that!!) I think its calling is as a fab tablecloth.....read between the lines....I can sew a tablecloth!.

and these amazing paper mache beads($1)....they are huge but light as a feather and are really pretty to look at....and go perfectly with the gorgeous embroidery that Al gave me.

oh thank the lord that the school hols have come to a glorious end. don't get me wrong I love hanging with my kids but every day?!...really?!!.....they were fab, only a little bit annoying and well Niccy was home for a fair amount of it and I did get to go to work still so all n all not a bad holiday....not the worst by far.
school is back and some renos are happening....our outdoor decking was hit by those little blighters ,white ants!....oh yay. but im lucky(I hope) to have family in the building bizz so all is happening this weekend and next.
we decided to extend the deck and get a bit extra done....may as well have a big mess right?
will take pics of course!!

not much time spent here of late....ive been a tad occupied with instagram (perfect for the lazy blogger!)...if you want to be lazy too my name there is allyniccy
so original I know....obvs so much thought went into that!!
im joining in with the beautiful Max as usual....and you should too!
I love checkin out all n sundries oppy finds....its nice to know im not alone in this addiction!

hint hint Tina!

  2. That fabric is born to be a tablecloth! Fantastic beads too! You have a knack Al. PS: I joined instagram a few weeks ago, still trying to figure it out on my dodgy-as phone though! Hooray for school going back, hope it all went well xx

  3. Fabbo finds! Love the painting & the seersucker. I don't quite know how I'd cope with school holidays....24/7 for 8 weeks or so? The Captain & I are off for a beach holiday this weekend. We always time it when all the kids are back at school. I like to have a wide gap in the ocean when I'm taking a dip, & not get hit in the head by boogie boarders! Xx

  4. Love all your fab finds ... all of them.
If the tablecloth fails ... you could always turn it into a sarong ... almost as good as pantaloons ;0)
Chicken burgers ... YUM ... set me a place ... I'll be there in 5

  7. Of all the table cloths I've come across while op-shopping I haven't found a seer sucker one as yet.
The print is lovely. Wall space must be getting short at your place with all those beautiful op-shopped pieces you find.

  9. Oh, joy to your world ...Oppy Days are Here Again (tra la, la la)
Love the seersucker fabric - tablecloth it has to be. Love the framed print!
I can't believe the number of sturdy wicker baskets stacked up in Op Shops in recent months, and after overstocking my supply I'm now giving basket shelves in the Oppy a wide berth, with not as much as a 'Lady Di' glance as I hot-foot past them .. well, that's for the time being!

  10. Love the basket and fabric - pantaloons, definitely!
School holidays are great for the lazy don't-have-to-be-up-early factor but I am usually ready for them to go back after the 6 weeks summer break. We all moan about the routine but kinda rely on it too. xxx

  14. Talk about slack bloggers I've been sucking on commenting lately. This whole finding the new normal with Cohen at school is crazy. I'm loving your little farm boy painting and I'm picturing you skipping in a la-de-da not a care in the world fashion over your golfing trophy. Seersucker pantaloons in that fabric have my heart a flutter at the meet suggestion........do it, do it, do it. You can always use a vinty sheet for a tablecloth. Sending big love your way sweet thing. X
