i was a little spoilt this Christmas....santa somehow knew ive been wanting (needing) a chenille bedspread for some time. well he delivered with this minty green washed out soft as a kitten number that I have curled up under every night since receiving.
perfect with some op shopped pillow slips and with newly purchased striped numbers from good ol target.
ive been sleeping like a babe ever since....that's a lie....a certain somebody has decided that my bed is now hers thank you very much and has developed the sneakiest of sneak routines to wrangle her way in every night!. with Nic away so often I had so much enjoyed my evenings of blissful solo slumber....alas no more. and as of two nights ago Charlie has also caught on that this is were the partys at!....2am saw me crawling into Charlies bed to try and finally get some sleep. a slippery slope people....in a few short nights we have gone from solo sleepers to co-sleepers...WTF?....its not what I signed up for!. I think I might just swap with Nic and go work in the mines....at least im guaranteed a bed to myself for two weeks straight.
oh well I will just have to gaze at my pretty bed in the day time....which I think will just make things worse somehow?!
AND....just to make me whinge a little more the oppies around here are vintage wastelands!...its all dried up! school holidays are to blame....ho hum I shall just have to shop my own cupboards or trawl the roadsides (hey kylie).
GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteLove!!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow...do I ever know what you mean. The grandsons love to spend the night, and three-to-a-bed is not conducive to a good night's sleep. Neither is sleeping on the couch.
ReplyDeleteMaking my want to get my chenille bedspread out
ReplyDeletedo it!....Jarvis will love it! hehe x
DeleteWith such a beautiful bed I can see why the kidlets want to share it with you.
ReplyDeleteThose pillowcases are stunning.

yeah, I'd climb in their with you too, something about chenille, so tactile, like sleeping on a pet! Can't believe the oppies have dried up there! total opposite here, it rained non-stop over xmas so everyone dunged out. salvo's won't take stuff as they have filled all there warehouses to the brim and have run out of room! I shall be down there monday morning when claud goes back to kindy, wahoo!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bedspread, and those floral pillow cases are beautiful. Ahhh, the joys of the sneaky-kid-in-the-bed... Not! I hated that period of musical beds and disturbed sleep, I have to confess. Bad mummy. But now a properly rested and undisturbed mummy, which is SO much better! xxxx
ReplyDeleteLove the bed … love the bedspread … love the pillowslips … love kids in the bed … not so much ;0)

Your bed is wonderful. Can imagine that the kids love to sleep in it. My son slept the first six years nearly EVERY night in our bed with his right hand on my throat... I don´t liked it... In the last year he only visited us maybe three times and the first month I felt sleepless, missing his hand on my throat...
ReplyDeleteLove the bedspread and the cushions are just fab!

Oh yes, bed hoping, been there! Lovely pillowcases, hope you get a good nights sleep soon! :) x
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect bed for sleeping....love the new old bedspread. You know my local op shops have been a bit lean on the vintage front too. I'm dying to spot an old frock, I get kinda itchy when I don't find anything! I hope you get the bed back to yourself, apart from Nic joining you of course! Xx
ReplyDeletenic can have my spot when she gets back....ill be off to the spare room like a shot!!...sad but true! x
DeleteLove this - chenille rocks! Those new pillow slips are awesome too. I popped into an opshop today and yes, you're right, very slim pickings...especially with three unwillng opshopping children in tow! xx
ReplyDeleteLove it. The stripes look fab with the bright florals too.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised that Charlie has been hopping into bed it looks divine. Those pillowcases are blowing my mind so bright, so beautiful. I don't mind little people and snuggles in bed, it's a special time but perhaps not so fun if you've got the kicking type child variety in bed......in that case that sh*t blows after while and no sleep.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bedspread! ......time to exit the offspring with there is no chocolate in mummies bed?
ReplyDeleteHey Al, you need to nip that co-sleepng biz in the bud pronto! (Annabel still tries to worm her way into our bed and she's 16!)
ReplyDeleteLove your bedspread, pillow slips et al x
I've been busting to comment on that amazing bedroom decor! My laptop has been in for a grease n oil change and for some reason I don't have success posting blog comments on my stupid phone.
ReplyDeleteLove that iron bed, love the bedspread - I loved having afternoon naps on a butter-yellow chenille bedspread at my Nana's house (about 60 years ago!). I swear hers was the same design.
No-one would wake in a grumpy mood after sleeping on those happy pillow cases and that fab bed.
Can we just talk about that bed for a minute?? I love it!! Am sending Sherb around to those colourful pillowcases, move over you three! It all looks fantastic, I love that Santa delivered what you asked for, you must have been a good girl all year Al, keep it up! xx
ReplyDeletePS: Must be something in the water, Clem is refusing to sleep at the moment too, cheeky chops.
