not sure what was more fun....flying down the grassy slope in the back of Charlies much loved Tonka or having mummy running on ahead like a maniac so she could get some photos.
im thinking probably the latter....oh and having mummy push you back up the mountain each time!! (great butt workout!)
Man I love this kid....she has taken to writing me notes and leaving them in my handbag. text only she can decipher but that's just the way I like it. "once upon a time stories" that always end with Frankie and her two dogs eating either ice cream or honey sandwiches .
"You got dogs??".....she asks this of anyone she comes across and always responds with an incredulous "why?" if the answer is no.
She is sad today as her beloved Mama has flown back to work..."to get the monies to buy me ponies" apparently!
so we will cuddle a lot and play a lot and begin the bigger than big countdown and the crossing off of days until Mama returns.
Im sad today because my beloved grandfather is living his last few days...im watching my mum and her sisters all say goodbye to "old silver". he is 95 and and will tell anyone who will listen that he has had a great life. he grew up with a big dog named Sam....so he is alright in Frankies book.
happy Friday

I just want to pinch that kid's cheeks!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your Pop Al. With a moniker like "Old Silver" he must be quite the bloke!
Thinking of you x
I love the Frankiemobile! How nice to have wheels when gravity and Mom provide the power!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your grandfather, Al. He sounds like a wonderful man, and it must be comforting to know he's happy with the life he's lived. My dad told me the same thing before he died, and it made it much easier to let him go, even though he was younger than I am now.
That gorgeous smile Frankie. Your crazy running, camera at the ready was worth it for these photos. x
ReplyDeleteOh what a touching post. Gorgeous Frankie, at the start of her life and loving it; your darling grandad at the end of his and satisfied that it has been a good one. Lovely photos. xxxx
ReplyDeleteLoads of love and hugs to you. 95 and saying he has had a great life is wonderful. And being surrounded by people who love him is such a nice way to go..... and as for Miss Frankie. She is a sweetie. Tell her I want a go! I was playing walk the plank with my boys on their bike ramp last week. Clumsy me tripped and landed all lady like (legs in the air) and there was an almighty CRACK. Yep, my big behind has broken their bike ramp. Something to put a smile on yer dial! xoxo
ReplyDeleteahhh Al i am so sorry! big hugs...wow 95 and happy to tell the life your world had been great and surrounded by your kids...that's a fabulous way to greet the end of your time xxxxxxx she is gorgeous! Wish i was next door with that cuppa leaning on the fence laughing at Mummy's butt workout.....erm i mean shouting encouragement! x
ReplyDeleteThose fabulous Frankie smiles shine through so big that I can almost hear the giggles behind them!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your Granddad, Al, I hope his passing is very peaceful. Relish the memories of him being in your life. He's gotta be a good man, he had a dog named SAM!
Incidentally, my Sis assured me that she'd had a long and enjoyable life which she was very thankful for; remembering that in these early weeks is a comfort to me. Big hugs to you. x
That Frankie is a doll, bet she and Liongirl would be a whole bundle of trouble together, think having a big brother turns a girl into a fearless speed freak! Glad to hear your Grandad has lived a good life and has all his family around him. Hugs. mel x
ReplyDeleteAl I looked at all these photos thinking, is she the happiest kid on the planet? And then giggled at her dogs question. Then sad when I read about your grandfather. Sending much love to you all and hope Nic comes back to you soon. Look after yourself, lots of love xx
ReplyDeleteOuch boy needs a bride but he's a cat person and she's a dog person! ...how will we ever be inlaws?
ReplyDeleteThinking of you, sending hugs and cider! xx
Such wonderful photos of one very happy and cheeky girl. She is so so gorgeous!! I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather and I really hope that your family finds the strength to get through this very difficult phase. All the best to you all. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh Al, so sorry to hear about your Grandfather ... but it must be comforting to know that he believes he's had a great life.
