op shop show off...(boo holidays over!)

well our Gold Coast holiday is over with a big fat thud!....we had a ball. the weather was exceptionally kind, beach and pool visits every day and sunshiny umbrella cocktails each evening
the kids and the wife both very well behaved and i simply cannot recommend highly enough our accommodation. which was the towers of chevron renaissance. (im plugging them just because they were so great not because they asked)

there will be a holiday post later on....I really just wanted to say HI!
We had to do a supermarket run this morning so popped into the oppy as well ( or should i say it the other way around!)
oh by the way....I did not enter one oppy whilst on holidays!!....yes you heard it here folks. Miracles do happen and no it wasn't because I was always too drunk to drive!

this mornings finds were found without really looking...I swear!...all was on the sale table except the paper file wooden thing??...cant remember what they are called..ive always wanted one and for $5.00 she is mine.

yes no doubt you have spotted jesus!...isn't he dashing. more doyleys, more coat hangers and a tin with a duck on it. some vintage kids gear some fab vintage fabric and some more Johnson plates...friends, my op shopping fix has been had!!

Hi Max...did you miss me?

im off for a big blog catch up!

Al xx

ps....its 27 degrees here today....27!!!....see what happens when your pals with Mr Jesus x

the wee dungarees are so cute! and those doilies and the coat hangers, sheesh the amount of work that went into them! I wonder if in 50 odd years the oppys will be full of vintage sheet bunting our generation made?!!

  7. Al I swear if we lived nearer to each other you'd have to lock up that wooden pigeon hole thing well away from me, I let one go ages ago and have lived to regret it! And those little overalls are too cute! So pleased everyone behaved on holidays including the weather, sounds like you had a beautiful time. Hope you don't crash down to earth too soon! xx

  9. Hope you are surviving the post-holiday slump (or is it just me who suffers from that? Perhaps it's the shedload of washing which has to be done that I find so depressing...) Sounds as though you had a brilliant time, and well done for sneaking in your op shop fix as soon as you got back! I can't resist old padded hangers either, love the wooden paper tray thingy, and Jesus is looking quite the poster boy, isn't he? Good to know he's sorting out some nice weather for you! xxxxx

  10. A BIG welcome back Al, I missed you and your sprinklng of humour in my week!
Oh, the timber filing shelf is a ripper; identical to one on my work-place desk many moons ago. I so much wanted to nick it when I left that job, but they knew where I lived! Those peachy-orange coat-hangers are very cute, but your best find was the Jesus picture - he looks very modern (and uber cool) with that carefully manicured fuzz - I wonder if he is a Gillette man? If you take away the fuzz, he might just pass as Daryl Hannah!
