this week was a tough one as far as finding red goes....I searched high and low...nothing. Which was a bugger cause I really wanted to join in this week as ive managed to miss a few.
where oh where is some red when you need it.
two pathetically sad gerberas were found but no amount of tinkering could bring those babes to life.
the days were ticking by and I was checking the mailbox....you know like you do a million times when bam!....right in the kisser are these little pom poms of pure redish delight.
now I wish I could rattle on about them...but I cant. I don't know what they are called nor can I sing their praises or admonish their frailties ( its a big word day obviously!!)
they are just the plant by the mailbox that allowed me to join in with the lovely gang over at
lous nature in the home series is truly lovely.
so thank you red pom pom bush (I think its a type of bottle brush...im prob waaay off the mark here!)
and thank you sweet (but smelly) green and red geranium leaves...(which interestingly enough produces a pink flower!!)
you have made my week.

ps...hows that for a bright white wellie!!...yep its glass...no glass slippers for me. x

Love the pom poms. They look similar to the blooms on mimosa trees. Curiously, I love the smell of geraniums. I may be the only person on earth who does.
ReplyDeleteno geraniums really???...they pong! x
DeleteMy hubs is a horticulturist ...so I hassled him .....and he says it is a Mimosa...Dana is right
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty! But they remind me of the time when I was a kid picking flowers off mum's bottle brush tree and got stung big time by a bee. Can't look at a bottle brush now, too many memories. But your pix are lovely and that boot is fantastic! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picks and pics!
ReplyDeleteI suppose it is a mimosa but I've only ever seen them in pink and yellow. Love the red!! And the wellie offcourse. Who needs a glass slipper when you've got a glass wellie, right?! Xo
ReplyDeleteI love your arrangement - it's so tropical looking to me. The colours are so vibrant and sunny. Love that boot they are in too! x
ReplyDeleteWonderful flowers but I just LOVE the willies! :) x
ReplyDeleteSo Ada....you love willies do you....that's nice?!! Lol.x

ReplyDeleteAl, got all confused re: Compass (since when has it been on at 6.30pm??) so had to iview it and haven't stopped crying. Poor Archie, can hardly bear him being taken away at three. God love him, he looks like he's doing it tough. But that voice! xx
ReplyDeleteLove the red pom pom flowers! I've not seen round bottle brush flowers before.
