going somewhere?...

if you strolled past my place yesterday you would have been forgiven for thinking that I was heading off somewhere (for a long time!)

but alas no...im not jetting of on that well deserved trip to Moree...
this dear friends is called taking action!....for some silly reason recent guests actually wanted to sleep in the guest bedroom....on the bed!
always the dumping ground...this room had become rather, shall we say cluttered.
"the shed" my brain says....."nics gonna spit it" my conscious says.
whilst checking out hiding spaces shelving space in the shed I realised I had my collection of EMPTY vintage suitcases....ta dah...im such a problem solver!
crikey moses they were heavy!....no chance in stacking them for an oh so chic vintage display. if they were to tumble down onto a child/dog/me we`d have no chance!....so off to the shed they went.
they will see the light of day again....just not sure when.
sad really...that pretty turquoise one is my latest...from the freebie pile!!
and LHK, whoever you are...thanks for selecting such sensible luggage.

I was so please with my efforts that I shouted myself coffee!
(in recent oppy find - set of 4 pyrex mugs for $2)
how great is that colour green?.

BFF`s forever!

then I shouted myself to a trip to the hairdresser...charlie was my photographer but I cant blame him for my missing chin(s)...they are on the cutting room floor!....vain?...yes!.

im not balding at the sides....its just oh so short and oh so white!
be kind....not like my mother!

is it too early to hide easter eggs for the hunt!
enjoy the extra long weekend folks. (we are road tripping!...yikes)

  1. I love your hair. Very trendy. Plus I know a wonderful trick for getting rid of the double chin dilemma. I am a professional at getting rid of mine;) Just hold the camera up as high as you can, like sky high & smile into it & take a selfie. Chin Problem solved. You may look like a fool, but no double chin, so whaddya gunna do. Look a fool or risk having a double chin. I go the fool everytime. Ha. Have wonderful long weekend, we are cleaning up copiuos amounts of dog poop & cleaning windows amongst gobbling eggs. All good.

  3. Love the hair, Al! Adore the vintage suitcases. The middle one (grey/blue) is identical to my very first suitcase (bought in the early 1960s) ... I suppose it didn't happen to have stickers from the Greek Islands and from Hotel d'Angleterre, Copenhagen????!!! Na, didn't think so (and NO, I've not travelled to either, a friend gave me the stickers on her return - I thought they were a cool look at the time). The turquoise suitcase is a real gem, isnt it. Cute and elegant retro Pyrex you've got there, too.
Happy road trip, and Happy Easter.

  6. hey there's my bloggy mate Alison...loving the hair (i'm about to bleach mine white again, the need for colour is eating at me again!) i mount my camera on top of a ledder six foot up and then lie upside down to get my shots....i then photoshop and delete on average 8000 to every one pic i keep, i then crop and add a soft focus filter and normally that does the trick to get rid of chins....but just recently i have lost my chins altogether there is no chin left i really need to sort it! no need for cropping you are gorgeous!!
i love the luggage, i never did get how the piled suitcase thing works, i mean how to you get into them? not to mention the crushed kids! we have a party bus arriving here in a few hours for tilly's belated party...wish me luck and have fun on your rd trip xxxx

  7. oh lordy lord... sorry about the typos, its early here and tilly is sitting on me demanding food!! When i saw the initials on the red case i immediately thought 'lovin hot kisses'...lol don't know why, life is hardly a bowl of hot kisses here, more dirty nappies, i suppose a girl can dream! x

  8. I have the turquoise case in my collection too. My suitcases are filled with vintage sheets and tea towels and yes they weigh a tonne when full. I have to strategically stack them so they don't squash the cases underneath.
Have a wonderful Easter and enjoy the little road trip.
