the rain is not doing much for the mood around these parts....I think we are on day 6 of gale force winds and blinding rains. so I will share some pics that do lift my mood.
yes the first one is of my dishwasher and its contents.....
finding the pretty in the everyday....isn't that what makes the world go round!!
some new pretties for our latest big purchase (which is being delivered next week)...I found them at the rabbit & the duck
this kid could lift any mood.....grey skys or no
tins and pretty vintage graphics...a winner. although the top of this tin has a clown picture on it that scares the bejesus outa me.
frankies room is in the middle of a re-shuffle. I could re-arrange there rooms weekly I love doing it so much but im sure there is some child rearing manual somewhere that would think that that is a sure way of assuring therapy is in the kids future.
notice the nice horizontal crack in the wall plaster....the joys of living in an old house in weather extremes!

the fairies are amongst us...or the princess or the pink superhero. LOTS of inside play is doing strange things to us all....please let the sun shine soon. Yes I do let my kids play in the rain but the gale force winds are a worry when you have a yard full of giant trees. At least mother nature has done some pruning for us....wish she would stack the trailer though and drive it all to the tip!
this kid is the bomb....he is back in a rhythm, is happy and is blowing me away with his huge leaps forward.
he is my little big thinker...Im always asking him...."watch ya thinkin bout Char"....the answer is always "nothing sorry"
they spend hours together on the trampoline, its about they only time they aren't bickering. Charlie has trouble with the concept of play.....but on here he is as playful as any kid.
i love that the tramps now come with the netting and zip closure....I wish that they also came with a padlock!
the weather is meant to clear this afternoon which is good because we are almost out of bread milk and toilet paper. Frankie squealed with delight when I said we`d be going to the supermarket today (me...not so much!)
tonight will be spent trawling the internet for inspiration for Nics upcoming 40th birthday!....its next week (yes I know leaving things to the last minute not such a good idea!).
any tips on what to get a woman who has it all and wants for nothing!!
seriously....I have no clue!
hope the sun is shining where you are!
Axx
You wrapped up with a pretty pink ribbon!?
ReplyDeletelol at least I`d be cheap! x
DeleteOh, those Johnson plates in the dishwasher, the ones with the deep pink roses .... pure 1968 vintage. How do I know? In 1968 I bought a dinnerset in that same pattern for my "glory box" (I kid you not)!! I love that pattern and my remaining pieces are still in use today. Very nostalgic. Over the years I've served some truly crappy meals on those plates, just ask my other half.
ReplyDeleteLove the smiles from Charlie & Frankie. Charlie has such a mature look for his age. Handsome boy, cute girl, lucky Mums. Hope you're getting that zing back with each new day, Al.
a glory box for the glory days hey suze....other half is still hanging around so meals cant have been too crappy....im zinging along....suns out now! x
DeleteCharlie and Frankie are such dolls! I love your photos of them.
ReplyDeletewalking talking singing eating fighting dolls!!! x

DeleteAhhh my lovely turns 40 this year too ! Aside from a very big doona to hide under she apparently wants nothing but to stay 39!
ReplyDeleteAdore those Johnson plates in the dishwasher and previous post.
Hope the weather clears up for you.

Deletebeautiful pictures, my girls had an identical fairy dress they lived in! so glad your boy is leaping and you also have tramoline fun with open zips, buy a memory rather than a thing....just a thought xxxxx
ReplyDeletehmmmm.... I have a birthday this year with a zero in it and Im hoping for a weekend away and op-shopping the whole time and maybe a bottle of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I had that what to buy problem last year. Good luck with that. Can you drop off the little people and have a night away? I hope so. Glad Charlie is going so well, Ruby's never had much of an interest in play, it's hard. Frankie is too cute, love those pix. Hope that sun's out by now! Have a good week Al xx
ReplyDelete*sigh* those plates in the dishwasher are gorgeous. X
ReplyDeleteHa ha, can I suggest a night away and a good sleep in! Works a treat. And yep we know all about issues with the concept of play. Mine are just getting it in recent weeks and I am in shock. Mostly any play has involved me as facilitator but the tide appears to be turning, which is the best birthday present in the world for me. mel x
ReplyDeleteI just had a very lust filled moment looking at your floral plates in the first image.... hmmmm
