stick love.....

it started out like this....some glass oppy finds...a stick....and a dream!
meh!!...wasnt feelin it. went to bed dreaming of bigger, better, faster, stronger!

well mother nature agreed and delivered a cracker of a storm at 3am.....all so i could wake to find my front yard covered in branches......
the lack of sleep thanks to that storm had me styling this beauty at about 7.....in the am!!

those 8 cute little ornaments obviously were not going to cut it.
the problem then was that all our xmas stuff is in the roof space of the garage.....i wasnt up for climbing ladders at that hour.....so hmmm what do i have handy to add to this big stick?!

just a cupboard chocka block with pretties!
so onto the stick they went!

yes the kids looked at me funny....but i was a woman with a dream.

it was at times precarious!....

 a little nerve wracking....

but oh so dreamy!

i really wanted to add my glass jugs....but weight was becoming an issue!

i will find a way i just know it!!....then put tea lights in them...then....

Nics dad was here for morning tea....he kept looking at my creation then looking at me....he said it was nice....then offered to have the kids for the afternoon. (i should of thrown in a little twitching & giggling for effect!)

to which of course i answered thank christ! no thats ok i want to hang with my babys today!
lol thats a lie.....off they went happily.

its time to step away from the big stick before i injure myself!
hangin with scandicoast today!

have a great weekend
Axx

  5. Very eclectic! I love it.
Hope there are no smashing teacups in the middle of the night, should they get a bit heavy for the branches! x

  7. I love this on so many levels, the tea cups, the birdies, the teapot, the fact that the branch was lying around your garden... this is the best Allison! x Tina

  8. You are better than any tonic, Allison (yes, even better than a GIN & Tonic!!). I've had another great giggle a this post. xx

Your Christmas tree looks very Scandinavian. I love it. Your display of interesting glass jugs look like a bunch of gifts under the tree.

  12. Love your twiggy tree - I'm hunting around for the perfect branch at the moment. I've got a growing collection of little vintage glass jugs too. You could wrap the fairy lights round the base of the tree - that way they would shine through the glass - would look really pretty I think.
