im taking a leaf from tanias book this post and shoppin da house!.
its been pouring with rain for the past 2 days so perfect time for some pottering about. ive been shopping for some treasures to adorn my bedside table....i dove into cupboards and under beds....had a sneezing marathon....and kept on shopping. this little lady had been all but forgotten about....i cant remember where exactly she came from??...was pre kids?...im thinkin oppy??..doesnt matter shes all kinds of cute and im glad she bid her time just a waiting for me to rediscover her........but thats not the best part!!!
guess what was inside?????......
TREASURE!....forgotten treasure (the best kind ).i admit to a little bit of squealing at this point...i think i even gave my forehead a good ol slap!
they certainly didnt look this pretty when i found them...all were rolled up in a plastic bag, again i vaguely remember putting them somewhere safe...once upon a time.
pretty and sparkly now...time to come out n play. the few pairs of 60`s plastic clip ons i know belonged to my aunty. ive never worn them as i was given them in the 90`s....remember the 90`s.....60`s clip ons were most def not the rage!.
the rest were oppied and garaged saled.....it was a collection of pretties that i thought my long dreamt for daughter would play with....well i have the daughter now....she can play with them after me!!
the hankies are another collection i started then forgot about....well these ones anyway...they can now join their buddies.
isnt the blue one pretty....couldnt possibly blow my snoz on her!
i ended up spending so much time on these pretties (im dazzled easily!), that i did nothing about my bedside table....it got a dusting thats it....so my aim this week is to dress that baby up with some bling!.....just need to find some.....just jokes my memories not that bad!!
im linking up with scandicoast today....check it out!
on another note Niccy left yesterday for her new job far far away....was brave and didnt cry till after she left.....i havent killed the kids yet....so far so good!
the sun is now shining after two days and nights of solid rain....was so needed. the garden and lawn should be renewed.....and now the bloody lawn will need mowing!
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!

Hello Allison :) Thanks for following me so glad you did as I have now discovered your blog! I love your "Nana Bling" ;) ...my beautiful Nan had so many lovely sparkly bits and bobs, hankies and pretties... I'd play with them for hours. True treasures! Jo xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a score! Funny you say that about the nineties. My Grandma gave me a brooch in about 1994. One of those beautiful antique cameos. Only, in order to get me to wear it, she had it made into a big dangly medallion. And at the time, that actually made sense to me. Such a shame!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck coping without Niccy, I'm sure she'll be back before you know it.
Love those brooches, or "jewels" as my Mum always called them. I recently wore a dazzler from her collection for a bit of fun, to jazz up a plain black dress. Surprisingly, the "jewels" received genuinely favourable comments from friends!
