the search is over, i finally found what i have been looking for since we moved here almost four years ago...new dining room chairs!!. we had red IKEA ones to tide us over but i was never in love with them, they were cheap and served a purpose....these little treasures were discovered at the local salvos (god bless em). they were tagged at $10.00....BARGAIN i screamed ever so quietly in my own head...only to discover whilst chatting up talking to the 100 year old man who handles the furniture dept, that they were $10..00 the lot AND it was 50% off sale day....yes thats right $1.25 a chair!...be still my beating heart!
they are still in need of a scrub, but with the morning sun streaming through the windows i just couldn`t resist taking some pics....aren`t they just the prettiest things! (please avert your eyes from the dust and dirt!)
also discovered a great desk with book hutch for charlies room...needs some tlc of the white paint kind...will take some pics if i can peel myself away from these beauties.
gorgeous weekend here, warm and sunny.i just picked some fresias which smell all kinds of devine. hope it smells good were you are.
p.s nicole loves the chairs...but is a little concerned as to how much i love them!

What a deal (or should I say 'steal')! They are fabulous chairs, and they look so perfect in your dining room. I can understand you being totally besotted with them.
ReplyDeleteThat is such an amazing find.
ReplyDeleteAnd they are off white too so they match everything.
Kind of retro beachy with a scandi twist. My favourite thing ;o)
Have a lovely Sunday evening,

I have the butterfly chandelier pictured in your avatar.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!!

The chairs are fantastic, cannot believe the price! Even if the kids mash veges into them, you don't need to bat an eyelid either. I can go months without finding any milk glass, also because it is white it does kind of blend in so you have to be alert for the patterns and shape and not the colour. Thanks for commenting recently a few times, takes me ages to get around and visit people who comment, love your blog and your kids are gorgeous. mel x
ReplyDeleteHi Allison, those chairs are ace. I totally love. them.
ReplyDeleteAnd talk about a bargain! The oppie shop Gods were certainly smiling on you that day, weren't they. I love your sunny dining room too. Looking forward to exploring more of your blog. Those vintage linens pegged on your clothes line from an earlier post have totally sucked me in. Gonna click the follow button x
