im well and truly on the mend now.things are getting back to normal.the kids certainly didnt like me lolling around the place, and of course once they work out you cannot move quickly or pick them up.....oh the shananigans!.they have adored having there mama home from work though.i do believe she may just be the favourite at the moment.
this i our mulberry tree which would be bearing lots of fruit if only frankie would stop picking them off whilst still bright green.lucky my parents have a monstrous one in the paddock next to their house, more than enough for us,them, the birds and the wallabies.
we have wisteria taking over our gardens, its so very beautiful but also very pesty. apparently our homes original owners were champion gardeners in the 50`s and 60`s....oh how they must turn in their graves!...oops thats if they have actually passed!...if not i bet they tisk tisk!. we have glorious established trees.huge camellia bushes (about 15).huge azealia bushes (about 8) and best of all garden beds that are no longer but still surprise us (and tell us a little of what the garden was like ), when bulbs of all sorts shoot up to say hi. my favourites, fresias and daffs!
as you can see from out back fence line that we are certainly not champion gardeners. we have put in passionfruit, grapes and the mulberry tree though and nics pride and joy is her herb/vege garden that is in 4 huge old double concrete washtubs that we found under the house when we moved in. must remember to get pics of them.
this little part of the house is what "sold" me when i first inspected this place. dual aspect windows on all 4 corners of the house.this is the kitchen....it helped that at that time the franginpani across the road was in full bloom....devine!
also helps that the franginpani house is a beautiful 1950`s bungalow, kept in all its wonderful original glory.
these beautiful windows are the dining room and were i sit each morning with my coffee and sleepy eyes.
its great to be on the mend, its been wonderful to be surrounded by my most precious. my beautiful wife (yes thats a fib as Australia will not let us.....that is SO another post!!) has been super mama and is racking up the brownie points!.
Niccy is on the gold coast today having a medical done for a job she is in the running for......im not supposed to tell anyone!...i think shes a shoe in but will share more when its all official.....i dont mind telling you im more than nervous about what it all will mean to our family but so proud i could burst!
hope everyone is enjoying the school hols....my little guy doesnt cope too well with them.he loves/needs structure and routine, so we find we still operate to a "kind of" schedule.....but playdates arranged for all next week so heres hoping all goes smoothly.
time for a bit more lolling about.
Glad you are on the mend and have lovely weather and family around to help you recuperate. Your house looks wonderful, would love to see some more pics of your garden, it sounds amazing. mel x
ReplyDeleteOur boys sound similar BTW, leaving our routine and comfort zone can be very challenging for both our kids actually but we still try. He is very relieved we are going back to our usual beach next week! mel x
ReplyDeleteI love mulberries!
ReplyDeleteI love those breeze blocks outside your (lovely) kitchen windows.
ReplyDeleteLove Wisteria but it does take over. And the bees! (not good with kids and pooches)
Hope your wifey gets her job, sounds like a move might be in store...
First day of hols here, but with one daughter at Uni and the other 15, they're not quite what they used to be.
Take care, glad you're feeling better.
