52/52...

I know...its a bit cheeky to muscle in on the last week of the 52 project with a bunch of pics when you have missed oh so many weeks prior.
but hey that's me....the rule breaker!....the rebel!.
I was always the last minute exam crammer....I am the last minute xmas shopper.
hey I didn't have my kids till 36 and 40 so im staying true to a life of last minuteness.
not many of Charlie but as you can see he enjoyed his xmas presents and that's him at the xmas dinner table. He could only participate if his beloved up n go and lunchbox of vegemite sandwiches were on the menu. And that's ok with us cause he sat there and even threw in a hearty "Merry Christmas everybody". we had to have a clear space for him to eat at or otherwise there is no way he could stand to sit there.
This is the first year that our lad has truly enjoyed xmas. He was excited about Santa, he shared the excitement when others opened their gifts, he showed patience and restraint....yes he even had enjoyed an advent calendar this year thanks to his amazing school teacher Mr Paul who starting teaching Charlie about advents back in Sept to get him prepared.
Autism sux!....Oh yes it does but we are seeing leaps and bounds we never imagined so it may be possible that autism sux just a little less this year....maybe?...Im not getting carried away but im willing to cut it some slack. Its a start.
gawd I didn't mean for this to become an essay on ASD and our boy but there you have it....lucky you guys can skip read!!
Frank was her delightful amazing spunky hilarious self.
she is amazing with a capitol A
a firecracker
a mum whisperer
a pit bull
and an angel
all wrapped up in pretty pink paper.
She adored xmas as we knew she would and is adoring even more having her big brother home to play.
Happy new year everyone....deep breaths here comes another year!!

hooray for Jodi and her project!

  4. Al my first comment got lost and is floating around in cyber space! It might turn up next year but in it I said that reading this made me so happy and teary too. Am so thrilled for you all and Charlie that he loved Christmas this year. I can relate so much to what you've written here, esp about what he needed to get through the day, he's gorgeous and looks so grown up in these pix! And little Miss Frankie is adorable with a capital A, those wings and smile and the dog! Too cute. Am gushing a bit here, not the result of too many xmas bubbles, it's just so bloody HOT and everyone on the hill is so over TIRED and that just makes me a little emotional! Wishing you all only good things for next year, you so deserve it. Bring on more of those leaps and bounds beautiful Charlie! Lots of love xx

  5. So glad your all had a great Xmas Al and such good news about Charlie too. Know exactly what you mean about the Christmas food situation- mine ate roast chicken breast, potatoes (minus the mayo) and the non dairy part of the pav. But he was just happy to get new lego, the food is irrelevant thankfully. We have had a rough time this Christmas, lots of moodiness, anger and attitude, not sure how I can do another month of this! mel x

  7. Superb photos of a happy Christmas, Al. Charlie and Frankie have grown soooooo much since last Christmas, both in height and in looks - no babies left in your house. Sometimes you just want to stop the clock and saviour those early childhood years a bit longer; I did say "sometimes", because the past year has obviously brought some amazing changes in Charlie's development. Your handsome big boy looks so grown up now, with his very cute little sister having shed all her baby girl expressions. All the best for a ripper of a year in 2014 to you and yours. XX

  8. Your boy Charlie looks so grown-up in these photos - tanned and rocking longer locks.
And love your description of Frankie - she sounds like an awesome person.
(I wanna give your dog a big squeeze around that fluffy neck).
Happy Christmas time to you all.

  9. OK YOU KNOW YOU MADE ME ALL TEARY WITH THIS ONE!!! Tilly with her insistance on cheese sandwiches and too much pudding and too many christmas crackers and it taking us forever to get her to know that she could only have 1 window a day on the advent, the first advent calender ever resulted in a two hour meltdown and this year she was fine! I get it and so happy he sat at the clear end of the table and was excited....yep tears here!!! its the little things that can suck and also the little things that make the magic! Love you beautiful, my kids are back on the blog, i was missing them too much there, unable to do 2 blogs and kinda decided not to live fearful! xxxxxxx

  10. Ahh, it's good to know that Charlie has been able to enjoy and participate more in Christmas this year. Your kids are beautiful, both of them; each with their own unique skills and qualities and personalities to bring to the world. Great photos, as always. xxxx
