I will just say a quick sorry first up for the amount of pics in this post.....ive never been good a culling.
a picture paints a thousand words and all that!
I figure you`d rather gork at pics than read my ramblings.
I found this rather gorgeous milk glass vase two weeks ago at Salvos for $2. Mums garden is going a little berko with roses so poor me is the recipient of overflow, don't they look perfectly at home in this pretty white vase.
I was snapping away shots of the mantle....happy with the results when I spotted an intruder!!
can you see him?!!
muscling in on the action!
someone who will remain nameless (FRANKIE!) thought that Woody should join the congregation hehe at least he was polite enough to remove his hat....he is friendly too
that's my new Mary he is hitting on...."hello there pretty lady"
wonder if Jesus would mind Woody as a step dad....I could think of worse contenders!
this 80`s Pierrot Clown doll was coming home with me....what a blast from the past. I had an aunt who was mad on this stuff and all my birthday and xmas presents always involved the French clown.
Isnt she? he? lovely....or just creepy im not sure.
How do you mime op shop?
I asked Nic this question and apparently you hold your nose and grimace!!....the cheek!!
anyhoo Marcel was only $2 and will happily scare the bejesuz out of Frankie for years to come.
now my favourite find of the past few weeks is this vintage leather camera bag...complete with key!
this handsome fellow was $4 and is lined an emerald green felt. It is being used as a home for my original 70`s view finder and slides that the kids cant get enough of.....who knew the humble view finder could trump the IPad.....short lived im sure but I`ll take it.
I had hidden the key, but Frankie spotted it and thinks its magic that the bag can be locked up....I can see the future here!!...key lost, tempers lost blah blah blah. oh well?
hehe did you spot me photo bombing?!
maybe its the start of showing more of me on the blog?
baby steps!
head on over to Maxs show offs galore!!
Janey these roses are for you honey....I wish you could smell them!! xx
Al xx
ps....two more sleeps and the missus is home!! praise Woody!!

ReplyDeleteThe vase and the flowers are gorgeous, and I actually like Woody giving a thumbs-up to Mary. I think he'd make a very good step-dad. :) The clown kinda creeps me out, but the leather bag is great.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous roses in a lovely vase, Woody joining the Holy Family, lockable camera cases, a teeny tiny peek at you in the mirror - all these are Good Things.
ReplyDeletePierrot - Bad Thing.
Sorry! I am crying a single, solitary picturesque tear while miming a sorrowful face to make up for being so harsh... xxxx
LOL There you are! Nice to see you for a change. Now a proper shot is in order. If I have my photos up then you should too!!! Love your treasures and you poor, poor thing having to have such a gorgeous bunch of roses hanging around:) xx

Oh yes! Amazing finds. The camera bag in particular. Your house must smell beautiful with the mass of roses everywhere xo
ReplyDeleteRight could we have a guest post from your mother on roses? They are beautiful! I have pruned them (well Sherb did), weeded and mulched and fed and am now faced with bloody aphids! What next? The milk glass is beautiful and am loving your little white Dutch houses, Ruby has the matching lamp! Hope you're surviving this week Al, lots of love xx

ReplyDeleteThat camera bag, what a classic! Whoa, Al, you are getting quite a "congregation" of Jesuses, you'll have to build a chapel in the backyard to house them all. Love those roses, and I see my favourite "Double Delight" - its perfume has a hint of jelly beans - waiting for mine to bloom. x
ReplyDeletejelly beans??....you pullin my leg? x
DeleteOh milk glass and leather, love them both! xo
ReplyDeleteSee another reason I just want to visit those blooms are gorgeous. You always have a the nicest blooms and the most gorgeous pics. I don't actually own any hobnail milk glass but whenever I see it it makes me think of my nan and the tiny little hobnail milk glass vases she has. That bag is super cool loving it all over. Love the photo bomb, I say yes to more photo bombing and more you.......that's only because I think your awesome. Big love to you my dear......oh and watch your email. X
