spring in my step!...

perhaps the prettiest jug I have ever seen...

these gorgeous johnsons are a breaky set..cups, saucers & bread n butters...$5 the lot....what?

I couldn't leave this beauty on the shelf....her nipples are a bit worn out....but im not one to judge!.

T pot complete with cosy...a perfect match don't you think?.

perfectly sweet vintage flower print....am finding a lot of these lately..always makes me wonder why?.

now im certainly not the boating type, but I love this oil painting...im pleased that someone`s talent is now on my walls instead of in the bargain bin. it was $3...almost makes me sad.

finally...I have what you can legitimately call a milk glass collection. All found in the past few weeks!. the two bigs on the left are biccy barrels??. im guessing?...Nic is happy we now have somewhere to store our folks ashes!...when the time comes of course!

this could very well be an all time fave!. its by Soulet and its a little boy named "timothy".

ive got a thing for card boxes...they remind me of my Aunty Gwen, who still has the ones she made when she was a kid in the 1940`s. she kept love letters in them from my Uncle Ron.On the day of my Uncle Rons funeral I got to choose one to read at the service. When I finished reading everyone clapped and cheered...that's how much we love them both!.

and I love that my bloggy pal Kylie from the fab lucy violet vintage thought to send this little bit of pretty to me. Thanks honey!

what a week its been...the oppies have been kind. the kids are back at school and child care...im back at work after 3 weeks vaycay! (boo hiss!). Nics home, which makes us all happy especially the dogs!
the sun is shining , we have lawn up to our behinds and Frankie is toilet trained...yeehar!!

ive got a little spring in my step....I wonder why?

sharing my oppie love with Max over at Blackbird has spoken.
also sharing over at the gorgeous young heart.

Later!
Axx

  1. So much to love!
The breakfast set is gorgeous and I adore all your milk glass collection (and Nic's idea for them)! My favourite has to be teapot and cosy - it's been so long since I've seen a beautiful crocheted onme like this. My parents used to make a pot of tea in the mornings with breakfast, and a cosy was a must...brings back many memories.

Hope your week continues on this positive path!

  2. Wow - such amazing finds! I love those flower pictures, but they are very rare in charity shops in my part of the world. Perhaps they are shipping them all over to your area?!

  4. Oh the memories that came back of my nana when i seen those boxes - I have still got mine from when i was a child that she gave me as a present (I am in my fifties - I write that because it doesn't look as old as the actual number does!!!lol). And i love the teapot & cosy - i have been busy knitting and crocheting cosies for my teapots. Such a wonderful haul from the oppies!

  5. So many beautiful things. I especially love the milk glass. It makes me think of my grandmother's collection when I was a kid.

  6. crikey, you are an op-shopper extraordinaire! the vase in the top pic is amazing, it looks like an elegant lady of old, hand on hip showing off her sweeping gown, maybe for her debutante portrait! and i love the colours of the boat painting. does it have an artists signature on it?
and milk glass funeral urns, top idea, they are kind of heavenly looking!
    so glad you link-ied x

  8. Oh, Al, I am breathless! So much pretty; well done fellow thrift junkie. I'm wearing a Holter monitor at the moment, and I almost had to press every option on the "event" button when I began scrolling down your pictures!!! It would be difficult to explain that to the cardiologist without being put into a psych ward, eh?

I am so in love with the framed print of Lilacs - Mmmmmm, the scent of Lilacs is so hard to beat. I, too, love card boxes; I have a very tattered one made for me in the 1950s by an elderly German lady. I was about 8 and one of my errands on the bike was to buy eggs from this lady each week.

Now, the carved timber beauty .. what can I say? Given her worn nipples I'd not be keen to know her former owner!!! Poor bugger, she didn't even have legs to escape their "clutches". I'll bet she thought sitting on a shelf in the Op Shop was like heaven after her former life, and now she looks very cool, calm and collected at Chez Ally-Niccy.
