1 | a memento from my childhood home....im chuffed that it now belongs here at my grown up home
2 | and who knows it may just end up at her grown up home?...Frankie has taken to eating ham....just ham....not organic macro grain fed daily massaged and sung to ham...just plain ol ham from the supermarket deli....I just need to be grateful its not spam right?
3 | im slowly filling her bookcase with enids...I wish she wrote about ham
4 | theres a renovated meat safe in Frankies room.....I think I have found the problem!
5 | gumnuts in the kitchen....naturally
6 | a splash of blue amongst the amber
7 & 8 | meet the latest member of the family.....hope she likes her new digs
9 | mum found this tray for me...its a hoot!
10 | the packet of fags (cigs) on top of the T Bone steak is a worry though....wonder if that stylist is still in the biz?
11 | this weeks treasure is this willow budget tin!....apparently it was a hit with the thrifty fifties housewife!....a few coins every week into the slots and you were home an hosed for the month!. It came with its coin trays in the inside, which are tine....no way this chicks house payments would fit!

  3. i have such a soft spot for those enid blyton books. when i was a kid in the uk, during the miners strike in the early 80-'s we were faced with the prospect of no christmas presents. on christmas day someone from the one of the strikers charities turned up with a three shelf bookcase, full of those books, i'm sure we had every one. magic christmas for a book worm. tales from the faraway tree was always my fave.
the bird cage looks so beautiful, and i love the tin too x

  9. Oh that Willow tin, I have been coveting one for months after seeing it on ebay. Although the boy would no doubt pinch it to sort all his money. And try including ham in every conversation without laughing when the four year old still calls it "pam". And vintage Enid Blytons are just the bees knees, I have a similar size bundle but different titles. mel x

  15. Hi Alison..what a fun visit here, thanks! Love all the sweet vintage pictures beside the bird cage & fabric looks great in it. Have you seen the movie Enid? Seems that she's not quite who some of us thought but looks intriguing. I'm quite sure most of us go through the ham phase..I did most especially when I was pregnant with Anna (1st) Funny thing is she's, the one that goes mental about ham every Christmas...so there you go. See you again soon. x
