and then came the sun...

the sun is out!...what a ride the past week or two have been. the wind, the rain, the cabin fever!
then the sun makes an early morning appearance and all is well again.
the clean up has been everything but fun...I do not dare complain though as we were barely touched in comparison to those suffering once again at the hands of sweet mother nature.
for one scary moment there was talk of niccy not making it home due to flood waters,
holey mother I nearly lost it like Oswald himself!...but the waters parted and home she came!...we are all rather happy about that as you can see by the love in our darling hearts eyes!
the kids are stuck to her like glue...im no longer capable of feeding bathing or dressing & I for one am not broken hearted over that revelation.
its music to my ears to hear "mama" over and over instead of "mummy".
(yep niccy is mama and I am mummy)....or "the mother" as Charlie called me for about six months of last year....not sure what that was about?.

school is back in session my friends!!! ( hear the heavenly angels sing!)
my darling boy was dressed and ready by 7.30am and followed me around with the car keys reminding me over and over that we were seeing "paul" today (his teacher who is the lost "wiggle").
no photos to show as I really think if I had of stopped for a quick photo session the poor child would have fainted on the spot. our trip to school is a 40 min car ride and im sure to Charlie it must have felt like 80!.....do you know how many times you can listen to Katie Perry`s "fireworks" in 40 mins..? 762 times!! I swear I now hate that song!

anyway we made it and Charlie promptly burst into tears.....with relief!...and then of course I cried out of happiness that he loves school so much. i was then shown the door!

all is well with the world again....my love is home for a week giddy up!.

we will now eat spectacular meals and have smiles on our dials.
hope everyone is smiling this weekend!

Axx

ps...I have some op shop goodies to show soon!....had some FUN! x

  11. These photos are lovely Allison, the sun and that happy little face with her Mama, so beautiful. We can relate when the other half is away too, and can definately relate hearing certain songs over and over and over.... Am pleased you survived the rain! And that school's back! Happy w/end to you all x

  12. Totally hearing you sister over the boy back at school relief thing. Mine is actually vaguely calm which for term one normally takes say around 10 weeks so unless this is the calm before the storm we are about 8 weeks ahead of schedule! And is actually playing with his sister for the first time in his almost seven year existence. That would be just them playing without me facilitating e.g. managing the hitting/yelling/bossing etc etc. Must be time to renovate and completely mess it all up! mel x
